Hello! My name is Anastasia. I teach Hatha Yoga and help people connect with themselves through the physical practice of yoga. For me yoga is about connection and unity. Yoga allows us to discover who we really are beyond the habitual limited vision of self, to get to know different parts of ourselves and invite all parts of the system to join together, to connect in balance and harmony. Through the practice of yoga we learn to harmonise the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our life and being.
In my classes I invite people to connect with their bodies by switching the focus of attention from the mind, our thoughts, to the sensations in the body, literally feel ourselves better! We also focus on synchronising movement and breath, learn how to notice the difference between tension and relaxation. Sounds easy enough but more often than not we are living our lives in constant tension and stress and have no idea how to relax. Practicing flowing movement is effort combined with an easy, relaxed attitude. My teaching style is gentle yet firm, guiding students to feel, trust and listen to their own bodies first as I believe that only our own body knows best how far we can go and what is good for us in any given moment. We go through the class at a steady pace, moving with awareness and presence, and start with simple breathing exercises, followed by a warm-up and then continue with learning the basics – proper alignment in basic asana or yogic postures which help us to build a steady foundation for our practice. The intensity of the class depends on the experience and needs of the students.
When we invest time and effort into consistent yoga practice we gradually notice the changes spread from our yoga mat into our daily lives. Yoga is a transformative practice that allows us not only to shape our bodies but shape our lives too and start living with more presence, joy, kindness, gratitude, compassion and love towards ourselves, other people and the world around us.
Yoga has been an integral part of my life since 2012 and has brought about many personal changes. Five years ago I finished my 10-year successful career in magazine publishing and went to travel, live, study and work in SE Asia. I have completed a 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course, Yoga Alliance Certified, in Mysore, India and also studied yoga philosophy through ancient yogic texts, foundations of Sanskrit, Mantra and Nada Yoga or the Yoga of Sound. I have been teaching yoga since 2016 and can lead classes in both English and Russian.
Let’s practice together, I will be happy to see you!
