Having come to yoga after 10 years of living and working in a spiritual community, where the focus was on meditation and the study of the texts of many different spiritual masters and traditions, yoga has provided a pathway of stability and strength of both body and mind in the ever changing and challenging moments of life. Having been fortunate to study with the some of the finest yoga teachers in a variety of styles, yoga has taught me self-compassion and empathy and the greatest tool of all, the refuge of the breath.
A Little More About Me
I am interested in yoga as a pathway to freedom. By yoga I mean it in the traditional sense of “union” of body, breath, mind and consciousness. In this sense, I am interested in yoga from the point of view and practises of the Tantricas where the techniques of yoga and meditation burn through our karmic impurities to make our mind clear, our heart pure, our intellect honest and our emotions peaceful. To find a place inside that integrates the sacred with the mundane in a harmonious balance. It is endlessly fascinating!
Experience & Qualifications
Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Core Flow, Restorative, Yin
As a keen practitioner and teacher I have been fortunate to work in the field of yoga for the past few years, not only offering intimate classes when I am at my home bases in Australia and Provence, but in establishing and managing yoga retreat centres in Sri Lanka and Bali. My extensive experience in all things office/technology and more recently social media, has contributed to the efficiency and success of the beautiful places I have been lucky enough to offer my skills. With my love of people and my natural affinity to service, along with my management style and skills I hope to be able to continue to serve the yoga community for many years to come.
