A Little More About Me
Ha Long, Vietnam
My passion for movement has always been a major part of who I am. I grew up in Colombia dancing culturally, practicing sports, enjoying hikes, and being in nature.
While finishing my psychology studies, as an undergraduate, I started training in contemporary dance and getting involved with the practice of yoga. Both yoga and dance, helped me regain something I felt lost in the academic world, that is my body´s voice and its ability to move in expressive ways.
As a psychologist, I found a way to combine my love for dance and do research, working with people with and without disabilities through dance, which ended up leading me to pursue my masters in dance at the University of Oregon in Eugene from 201o-13. Since then, I also made my yoga practice a regular activity and went for my yoga teacher training certification in 2013 at Hot Yoga for Life, a Portland´s based yoga studio.
My quest into the yoga world has helped me understand better who I am, and especially has given me the tools to combine all that I love to do: move, create, express, research and help others explore themselves and gain self-knowledge.
I have worked in different projects with the intention of bringing movement, wellness, and creativity in the life of people who need it. Consequently, I have received lots of joy and inspiration in return. Which has lead, to the hope of creating better environments and opportunities for other people to grow within their worlds.
I combine a lot of fluidity in my classes, helping people develop strength and good foundations to move on their mats and in their lives.
