After 10 years of working in the events industry and a long time not listening to my body I discovered the practice of yoga. Firstly, yoga for me was just a physical (asana) based practice (a way to exercise). This idea was short lived when I began to notice the subtle changes in my body and mind both on and off the mat. It was this discovery and a long journey of balancing my health that created space for me to look at how to live a sustainable, healthy, balanced life complimented by a successful career that felt authentic to me. It was shortly after that I resigned from my events career and pursued aligning my passion for health and wellbeing with a career in the same industry. It was then that I landed upon a dream role as Community Key Leader at lululemon Mosman and where my personal development started. This year I have completed my 200HR Hatha and 50Hr Yin yoga teacher training under Slow Yoga at Yoga Sivana (accredited by Yoga Alliance). The hatha training ran part time over 6-months and was led by Cora Geroux, Lyndsey Benn, Emma Cruickshank and Melissa Kidd. The 50HR Yin certification was also facilitated by Cora Geroux and Emma Cruickshank who were both taught under Sarah Powers and Bernie Clark. I am excited to share what I have embodied through the practice of yoga and learnt throughout my yoga studies. I also have goals to further my studies within yoga and beyond. I hold a safe space for my students whilst drawing their attention to the sensations in their body and the importance of the breath within stillness and movement. Yoga philosophy is a key component to my classes. I look forward to sharing my practice with you. Inspired by yoga philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine but my greatest lesson is LIFE!!
