Luca Hadassah Bogen
My name is Luca, meaning The Messenger Of Light.
My heart is my home, and this Earth is my playground. I’m a nomadic yogi, teaching and practicing the art of yoga as I travel around this beautiful planet. I travel and live as consciously as possible, living alongside mother nature in the most ethical and sustainable way through permaculture practices, a plant based diet and eco community living.
Alongside yoga teaching I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner, offering consultations and therapies on request. I also have skills in vegetarian/vegan/raw cooking, as well as management and marketing skills.
A Little More About Me
Yoga changed my life by altering my state of mind. This didn’t occur when I could do a headstand or a complex backbend or twist my arms behind my back and head. This happened after I learnt those postures, thought I was going far, and then realised I was going no where. Yoga is not only about doing postures with the body, that is one part of yoga. Practicing only asana or only meditation limits you to attaining the true goal of yoga. The goal? Freedom. Truth. Wisdom
Yoga is a practice that goes way beyond the physical and can take us into a deeper stage where we can travel further into mind, space and truth. Yoga is a practice that you can take anywhere, any time, any place, and connect to self to find the inner purity that resides in us all. This is my interest in yoga, and the message I share with those I encounter on the way. I wish for everyone to be able to connect with their inner self, the voice of truth, and discover the light through yoga.
May all beings be happy and free.
Experience & Qualifications
Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin and Yoga Nidra.
At age 19 I began the practice of yoga and started to become intrigued about the spiritual side of life. After graduating university, I began dipping my toes into the world of yoga, with my first position in management and marketing at Camyoga Studios.
Yoga truly entered the centre stage of my life aged 25, when I first visited the land of yoga, India. For the past 3 years I have continued as a student in Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedanta, studying all sciences in ashrams and schools, and teaching for just over one year in various places across the world. This journey back to self is a long one, and I am humbly grateful for my path to learn, teach and serve.

For one month I ran the yoga retreats at Golden Waves Retreats in Furadouro close to Porto in Portugal. Six days a week I taught vinyasa flow in the mornings and yin yoga in the evenings, both 90 minute classes. I also taught meditation to students who requested during the retreats.
YOGA TEACHER + VOLUNTEER, MONTE DE ORADA, PORTUGAL — SEPTEMBER 2018

For two months I taught daily Hatha classes at this yoga studio in Pokhara. I also organised some yoga and meditation events for the community.
VEGETARIAN KITCHEN ASSISTANT, TRIYOGA, LONDON, U.K — JULY-DECEMBER 2016
I assisted the head chef in preparing vegetarian and vegan cakes, snacks and meals. Here I developed my skills in vegetarian, vegan and raw cooking and worked alongside yogis in a positive community.
ASSISTANT MANAGER AND MARKETING ASSISTANT, CAMYOGA, CAMBRIDGE, U.K — 2015
During my time at Camyoga I assisted the manager in running two studios in Cambridge. This involved checking in classes, maintaining studios, maintaining schedules, preparing the space for retreats and hosting the space for retreats. This role also involved assisting the marketing manager, finding new clients and developing strategies for the business.
Before I found yoga, I studied fashion and worked in the marketing sector of fashion in England. I interned for Vogue India and Elle UK giving me a lot of experience with styling and photo shoots. I also worked for London Fashion Week on production and backstage, gaining experience in events. Although fashion is not my main interest now, I use my skills to help with promotion, sales and events in all kinds of jobs.
During my travels, I have visited many places and volunteered with NGO’s, charities and projects ranging from teaching children in Malawi and Vietnam, to building earth bag buildings in Nepal, to empowering women in Malawi to create their own businesses. I have lived in communities from Bali to India, travelled in groups, in a camper van, with a partner, and on my own. From all of these experiences I would say I have learnt a lot more than any “job” I’ve ever had. I am truly grateful, and I’m still on the road welcoming new experiences.
