I am a certified advanced 500-hour trained yoga instructor as well as a massage therapist and bodyworker. I run my own business teaching private and small group yoga classes, as well as offering a variety of massage therapy modalities to my clients. I have been studying yoga for almost twenty years, and teaching for approximately ten years. I think of yoga as a way of life, offering guiding principles for every day living, as well as being an extraordinary framework for fitness and overall health. I am passionate about yoga, health and wellness, and travel, as well! I am bilingual (Spanish & English), and I speak a little bit of many other languages. I am excited to combine my passion for health with my passion for travel, and I am grateful to be a part of the Yoga Trade community!

A Little More About Me
Portsmouth, NH, USA
My training and background in yoga centers around hatha yoga. My first yoga teacher taught primarily hatha yoga, and I fell in love with it. I went on to study at Yandara Institute in Baja, Mexico, where the focus is on hatha as well as Iyengar-based alignment theory. I completed three courses, leading to 500-hours of advanced training. I also did an immersive volunteer program at the Satchidananda Ashram in Buckingham, VA in 2005, where I studied Integral Yoga and helped with various tasks around the Ashram for six weeks. It was an amazing experience, and to this day I have a deep appreciation for Integral Yoga, as well. I have attended classes at Ashtanga studios, Vinyasa studios, Bikram studios and some others. Hatha has always been my home, though, and what I always return to. I always like to bring some of the deeper teachings of yoga into my classes, like elements of the scriptures, and always some degree of pranayama and meditation. Asana is only one branch of many, so I like to share as much of the whole yogic system with my students as interests them! One of the best things about teaching is that you are always learning.

Experience & Qualifications
I have 500 hours of accredited training as a yoga instructor, as well as over 800 hours of training as a licensed massage therapist, and a bachelors of science with a focus on a pre-med track. I have studied anatomy and physiology in depth, as well as biology, chemistry and other relevant fields. In addition to this, I am a musician and dancer, and completed a variety of music practice, theory, and history classes while in my undergrad. I love to bring music into the class when possible! And I believe in the healing power of sound, and movement. I taught yoga classes for several years in Portsmouth, NH, between a a few different studio spaces. One is called Yoga By Donation, and the other is the movement space at Spinnaker Point. In the last few years, I transitioned to teaching small group and private yoga classes out of my healing arts center, as I recognized my clients could get even more benefit from focused, special attention. I do miss my larger classes, however, and with Yoga Trade I look forward to having the opportunity to step back from running my own business for a time and focus on teaching full time!
