Pia Kristina Herberg
Hi there, I am Pia, a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher, architect, thai masseuse, world traveler, adventuress, and lover of nature and the simple life. Born in Germany I am living to travel the world and share my loving kindness to all beings. Apart from teaching yoga, I deeply immersed into the ancient healing art of Thai Yoga Massage (besides other massages such as quiro massage, relaxing massage and foot reflexology) and also give trainings.
Together with a friend we have created a very special Yoga Retreat (PEACE YOGA Retreat) in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Spain, where we bring together unjudgementally learning different styles of yoga and passing on the ethics of yoga out of an urge to heal the world, beginning at the seeds: http://www.sunchildyoga.org
Last year I set up my own yoga retreat in Cantabria, northern Spain, together with a friend who could give his land for this beautiful summer season. A retreat dedicated to living with nature, all food coming from the garden, with eco toilets, etc… http://www.pialokahyoga.com/yoga-river
Having been working as an architect for 12 years I bring in a lot of creativity, the potential to visualize dreams and the skills of a handywoman. I love to work outside, construct, and work with the plants.
A Little More About Me
In my teaching 2 things are most important to me:
make people believe in who they are, in accepting themselves exactly the ways they are, by paying attention to everyone´s practice and making sure they practice with AHIMSA – with sensitivity to their body and love for what they´re doing.
Having been an architect before my asanas focus on the foundation, knowing that only with a strong foundation, beauty can rise.
passing on the wisdom of the “Yoga Sutras” by integrating the themes into the class and by awakening in the students the awareness for their existence and their purposes as ethical principles to live a life in harmony with themselves and the world around them.
taught yoga styles: Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Beginners
