Hi thank you for taking the time to visit my little corner of this web world. http://www.pollycastellano.com
What to say… what to say… I’m not one for singing my own praises which kind of defeats the object of this little window, so how to let you glimpse through the glass and take a peek at me?
Well lets talk about love after thats what its all about. I love to write, I write about everything that moves me, I love to study the nitty gritty of postures and write them as eloquently as my mind can hold space to imagine. (It’s not often all that special but it’s passionate) I also think of Asana is moving poetry. Yoga and creativity for me are one and the same.
I love to move, to guide others in movements and listen to the whispers of the body, to tune in and tap in to our intuition and cultivate body intelligence.
I love to see the light in students eyes when they finally understand the essence of the posture. It’s all very well and good instructing complicated asanas but for me the real beauty lies in being gentle, to understanding why as well as how we move. Learning to move with more love less haste. Rather than stressing and stretching the tissues I aim to guide students to embody them.
I love to study, I live to learn and impart knowledge. My classes are inspired by everything in my life as well as my being an absolute geek, we may dip into Chinese medicine one day, Ayurveda the next, from quantum physics, biopsychosocial mechanisms, anatomy or just something funny that my cat did, I put it all my class, I love it!
I came into yoga from my work as an intuitive healer in massage and nutrition and a pretty enlightening healing journey of my own. My main motivation is the emotional and spiritual growth yoga offers, if I can foster some compassion towards to the self and guide some through movement or Nidra towards their authentic self then thats all I need in my life. I live to love and love to live.
Thank you for reading this snippet about my teachings, I hope you today brings you a smiles and love like nectar for the soul.

I study a lot on line so I have plethora of theory based certificates from yoga schools, nutrition schools and other disciplines. It’s been a hobby bordering on obsession for almost a decade.
I use all of them to make me a competent and rounded yogi and healer, people are so different I like to have as many tools in my toolkit as possible. This field is so full with wonderful new discoveries and information I like to keep learning, to keep me on my toes and open new pathways. I’m happy to discuss any of them in person.
