I am the founder of Sustainable Wellness -a lifestyle transformation consulting practice that specializes in supporting people dealing with trauma, aspiring vegans, and the LGBTIQ community. I am an alignment-based yoga teacher, certified by the College of Purna Yoga. My roots are in Purna Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Social Justice,Trauma-sensitive-yoga, plant-strong nutrition, Imago communication, Tantra Energy, Reiki, and my own journey in exploring the mystery of Life. I have been immersed in the world of teaching the transformative arts since 2001.
Most recently in 2017, I completed my 500-Hour Purna Yoga certification with the world renowned yoga master, Aadil Palkhivala, the founder of Purna Yoga. I introduce students to the knowledge of alignment, anatomy, and heart-centered movement and energy based meditations. I create a deep and joyful environment that invite students to turn towards their healing source, their hearts, for transformation and wholeness. Practical application of yogic philosophy and nutrition and lifestyle guidance from Ayurveda, Chinese, and Western traditions are deeply integrated in my various yoga programs. For over fifteen years, I have supported students in creating a preventive health lifestyle and sustainable self-care practices with positive results.
I am also trained by David Emerson of the Trauma Center of Justice Resource Institute to bring trauma informed yoga classes that emphasis somatic awareness, interoception, and empowerment. This class is gentle, kind, judgement-free, and stigma free class environment that supports the students to reframe their relationship with their bodies and emotional reactions through conscious mental choices. With over ten years experience supporting private clients, I emphasize safety, mindfulness, and kindness in my classes.
As a lifestyle transformation coach, I coach clients how to improve and transform themselves with an educational relationship with me. I am masterful in educating my clients on anti-inflammatory lifestyle practices and relationship building and communication coaching sessions.
I am a certified cooking instructor of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) to teach healthy plant-based cooking classes to individuals struggling with diabetes, weight gain, HBP, and high cholesterol. I also offer nutrition coaching as a professionally trained health coach. I am certified by the Teachers college of Columbia University and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to serve individuals, organizations, and businesses. I am also board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
A Little More About Me
I was born and raised in a culture of yoga in Bangladesh. I was first introduced to Hatha yoga by my grandfather at the age of five in the 1980’s and yoga has been pulsing through my heart since then. Over the years, I have experienced and practiced various styles including Yoga Hour, Hatha, Vinyasa, Iyenger yoga. I bring safety, calmness, playfulness, and alot of spirit to each yoga program I design and I offer to students I teach. My deep understanding of asanas and their transformative powers were masterfully instilled in me at my 500 hr. teacher training by the world renowned yoga master teacher, Aadil Palkivala, the founder of Purna Yoga.
Currently, I enjoy designing and delivering weekend long and week long yoga and wholeness retreats for wellness companies and for people traveling globally to vacations homes/retreat centers.
