A Little More About Me
Yoga is a gift of inner peace. One purpose of yoga is to assist in cultivating a deep understanding of one’s mind, desires and soul purpose. In my personal practice I utilize vinyasa to give me strength, yin to encourage my “next step” mind to slow down and meditation to stay in the present moment. My teaching style when guiding a vinyasa or ashtanga class focuses on the breath and reminds students that if they aren’t breathing while doing an asana they aren’t alive in that pose. Vinyasa is an orchestrated dance and when the practitioner dances with the breath and body they feel capable and present. I recently became infatuated with yoga Nidra, because of my experience of deep relaxation and anxiety reduction. I yearn to practice this style more in order to guide others in the future.
