Hello beautiful Yoga World,
My name is Amber Jane and I am a Yoga Viber. I deeply value truth, honesty, and kindness. Yoga teaches me everyday to wake up to the beauty that surrounds me and share with compassion and humility. I passionately hold space for those in need, and embrace a holistic lifestyle and approach to practice and guiding others.
I am currently studying Occupational Therapy in Auckland, New Zealand, after owning my own humble home studio in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay for a few years. I now teach free lance for local studios, Sports teams and a diverse range of communities in the Auckland area.
During my University holidays I endeavour to travel, experience new places and cultures, while still spreading the joy that Yoga brings.
My teachings are graced with science and spirituality. I believe that Eastern and Western modalities both have their place on the platform of a healthy well being. To be able to reach and help more people, I strive to understand an array of perspectives and philosophies. Ultimately, I endeavour to teach from my heart, so to better open my students hearts.
On paper I am a Yoga Alliance registered Yoga teacher (E-RYT200/RYT500), and in my heart I feel I have been teaching and spreading the Yoga joy for more than just this lifetime.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Much love and blessings,
Amber J xx

A Little More About Me
Auckland, New Zealand
When I see “Yoga Interests” I see Life Interests as Yoga is a way of life. So these include:
– Movement (dance, tai chi, Yoga asana, sport, hiking)
– Helping (whether it be looking after people, listening, or helping animals)
– Arts (singing, dancing, acting)
– Socialising (meeting new people)
– Cooking (not overly well, but I try)

Experience & Qualifications
Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Restorative, Meditation
Having danced since I was 4 years old the asana practice came very naturally to me when I began practicing consistently in 2012.
I had practiced Pilates a lot before Yoga, and found the breath work beneficial for clearing my mind, and evaluating my values and priorities in life. This has definitely been intertwined into my own style of teachings.
Bikram was one of the first styles of Yoga that I tried, and enjoyed. Still dancing at the time, I enjoyed the intensity.
On returning to New Zealand in 2013 I started attending PowerVinyasa classes. The intensity still suited me at this stage, but I began to enjoy the stillness and the peace I was beginning to feel at the end of the practice a lot more. During one very meditative end to my practice I had such a pull to go to Auckland to study Yoga. I had been looking online, and one place really stood out to me; Wellpark College.
In 2014 I packed my bags and travelled up to the biggest city in New Zealand to study a Diploma in Yoga. It was the best decision I have ever made and I am definitely a much more grateful and peaceful person because of it. It still brings me to tears reminiscing about the year I spent there, thinking about the lifelong friends I have made and the wonderful wisdom I was reminded of every single day.
At the end of my year at Wellpark all I wanted to do was help others, and spread the Yoga joy! So that is what I did, and am still doing. I spent half a year teaching at another studio in Napier, and then decided to create my ownspace; The Sanctuary. I wanted to create a place that felt like more than just a studio to people. I wanted to make people feel at home and safe enough to grow and share in their journey, a place to cry together and laugh together.
Amongst building this vision, I have spent time overseas teaching and continuously learning. In 2015 I spent two weeks relieving for a teacher at Paradise Cove, a beautiful 5 star Resort in Fiji, and carried out continued learning in Melbourne, Australia in 2015. I have also partaken in trainings with Flo Fenton, Tiffany Cruikshank and Nikki Ralston.
I am now currently teaching at Nikki Ralston’s studio, where I am blessed to be able to soak up her knowledge and wisdoms, while studying Occupational Therapy.
This is my story, but if you have anymore queries do not hesitate to get in touch.
Much love & blessings,
Amber Jane xx
