[av_dropcap1]Y[/av_dropcap1]oga has been a part of Takkesh’s life since the age of 6 years old when he would practice Capoeira with his brothers which involved a lot flexibility and flow. Takkesh then started competing in surfing when he was 12. Yoga has been an amazing journey for him and he has been a dedicated yogi for 14 years now. He started with a Yoga for surfers DVD and then deepened his yoga through the Gold Coast Yoga center starting at 13 years old. At the moment he is participating in a mentor/apprenticeship program to deepen every aspect of yoga!
In March 2016 he completed a teacher training in Bali at ZenThai Shiatsu including ZenThai Flow (asana), Partner Yoga, Acroyoga and Zenthai Shiatsu Bodywork. ZenThai Yoga integrates the practice of mindful movement with the ancient wisdom of the Five Elements and Meridians from Traditional Chinese Medicine, fascial release!!!
He co-created Waves of Balance, with his girlfriend Brook Evans. Through this project they offer partner yoga, arm balancing, acroyoga and bodywork for yoga retreats, workshops and festivals.
Traveling as Pro surfer on the WQS for a few years has taken him across the world to Japan, Taiwan, Mexico, USA, Fiji and many more destinations while exploring yoga in every journey.

He has finished his Builders license as well through a Carpentry apprenticeship and a Diploma of Building design and started Architecture at Uni. He started building with his mate Matt (Threeworlds) creating a space out at Tallebugdera Valley making a School Bus into a home and a yoga deck on top with big organic gardens around the bus! Nearly finished is the outdoor bathroom in the elements:) It is being built for future retreats and its only 10 minutes to Burleigh Heads point in his native country Australia.
Ocean waves and nature’s rhythms have been a constant inspiration through out his life. Nature experiences have embodied a sense of potent presence that make sure every move has focus and precision. He directs his attention towards these aspects during his ZenThai treatments. The rhythmical dance flows with the body to unravel any holding patterns without force or expectation. He is passionate, inspired, and driven by surfing, yoga, and Capoeira. ZenThai feels like a natural progression. He believes his purpose now is to Inspire and he finds deep gratitude in walking on an integral and humble path and hopes for others to be inspired by what he has to share. “Yoga is a portal that I use to inspire others and to heal myself. Yoga, surf, chill, ZenThai, repeat.”
