First Yoga Trade Travel Rep! November/December 2015
We’re so excited to have Mary Tilson out there spreading the word this month! She’s an amazing young soul and the perfect person to kick off our Yoga Trade Travel Rep program.
After recently finishing up a year leading retreats at Hariharalaya, Mary traveled to India to help integrate yoga & meditation into the D.A.A.N. Foundation’s Youth Centers and to deepen her own yoga and meditation practice including a course on Tibetan Buddhism and an ashram stay. In 2016, Mary will be leading classes and retreats at Nihiwatu Resort on Sumba Island and continue co-leading 200-hr Teacher Training courses with Yoga Therapist, Shy Sayar.
Mary is from Illinois, USA, and studied at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Mary’s passion for yoga has taken her across the world from the U.S. to world-renowned yoga centers in Southeast Asia and India. She has led over 40 retreats as the head yoga teacher at Hariharalaya Yoga & Meditation Center in Cambodia and continues to assist Yoga Therapist Shy Sayar in leading 200-Hr Teacher Training courses at The Sanctuary in Thailand. Her commitment to service has also inspired a recent project in India, where she initiated a Yoga Program in Village Youth Centers.
Mary brings over 500+ Yoga Alliance accredited training hours including Hatha, Power Vinyasa, and Restorative Yoga as well as ongoing training in Yoga Therapy. Based on the philosophy of “teaching people, not poses”, Yoga Therapy utilizes the tools of Yoga to treat a range of physical, mental and emotional disorders. She also also had the great opportunity of studying Yoga for Addiction Recovery with Nikki Myers, founder of Y12SR (Yoga for 12-Step Recovery).
Mary’s diverse experience reflects her belief that yoga is a practice for everyone.
